This weekend will be the last chance to see the grove in all its splendor of the 2019 full bloom, but it will still be worth the trip in the next 10 days or so.

Rhododendron Bloom Report: July 10, 2019
This coming week and the following weekend will be a good show (at least as good as it’s going to get this year-good but not as fantastic as it has been in the past).
Rhododendron Bloom Report: July 5, 2019
Hey folks-It was not raining this week so I took a few extra pictures to make up for last week. So far the weather seems pretty dry this month. The prediction of rain is a definite maybe. How will it affect the timing? Who knows? It is getting closer to full bloom at the grove, […]
Rhododendron Bloom Report: June 21, 2019
Hi folks-As the hybrid rhododendrons are winding down, the bloom time at Rhododendron State Park is getting closer. However, we may not see any flowers for another week or so. Most of the flowers will be out in full by the middle of July as usual. However, the bugs are as thick as ever (also […]
Rhododendron Bloom Report: June 12, 2019
Hey folks,Even though your backyard (improved and hybridized) rhododendron bushes may have already bloomed, the native Rhododendron Maximus at Rhododendron State Park aren’t even close to flowering yet. As of this week, the blooms seem to finally be in full swing at Rhododendron. However, as Ted observed in his previous report, […]
Rhododendron Bloom Report: June 29, 2018
Hey Folks- I went to the grove a day early in order to avoid the rain forecast for Thursday 6/28, but not much difference can be seen in a day or two unless one looks quite closely. Indeed, all plants are metabolizing and growing at an amazing rate this time of year. A microscope or […]
Rhododendron Bloom Report: June 22, 2018
Hey Folks, Not much is new (visibly, at least) at the grove this week as far as the blooms go. Each week when I walk the loop I notice a few more flower buds (not new ones, I just didn’t see them before) but the numbers are down this year. The buds are still as […]
