Rhododendron Bloom Report: August 7, 2018

By: Tom Fischer, Interpretive Ranger at Monadnock State Park

The bloom at Rhododendron State Park is officially over, and this will be the last report for 2018. While the bloom wasn’t very spectacular this year, hopefully all the vegetative growth that occurred will ensure better blooms in years to come.

No blooms to be seen, but plenty of vegetative growth
Former blooms left bare
Ghost Plant that has thrived after all the rain this past week.

Walking through the loop one last time, I realized that as long as you can get over the bugs, it’s still a very beautiful walk, even without the flowers.
