This year a local artist is creating handmade miniature park entrance signs and fire towers for our 2021 ornament collection!
We wanted to come up with something really special for our 2021 Holiday Ornament Collection and were lucky enough to discover the work of artist/crafter Lyn Collins of White Mountain Smile Makers. Lyn designed these amazing miniature park entrance signs and is currently making them by hand in her New Hampton workshop. Her miniature fire tower design will be part of our 2021 ornament collection as well.
Known as ‘gallows’ signs, these hand-routed hangings are a distinguishing feature of the NH State Park System. For many visitors, our entrance signs have also come to symbolize fond family memories and the places they cherish. By displaying them in your home, we hope you’ll be able to reflect on your favorite campgrounds, beaches and trails and be inspired to plan your next outdoor adventure.
Lyn has over twenty-five years’ experience in creating small one of a kind gift items that mimic life’s special moments. She works hard to capture unique “smile” moments that are inspired by cherished memories. We feel like she really hit the mark with these miniature park signs and firetowers and hope that fans of the NH State Park System will agree.
These NH Made ornaments are small enough to be hung on your Christmas tree but could also be displayed most almost anywhere at home or office.
So far we have ornaments made for Wellington and Bear Brook. Several other park ornaments will follow along with the firetower design. Lyn is currently working on a sign for White Lake State Park and a miniature version of the Franconia Notch State Park entrance sign as well.
These ornaments will be available in our online store in the next few weeks. Follow us on social media for the official launch announcement.
