A lot can happen in one week here in New England. We had a very short Spring this year- it seemed that Winter turned to Summer in a week or so. I say this as an excuse for what I will say next: The blooms are coming on a bit early this year.

As usual, there will be some areas that are full of blooms, while other places will have lots of new growth, but no flowers to speak of. In this weeks photographs, I have included a variety of different stages of flower buds, some of which are still closed and some are starting to open up a bit.

These photos, taken on Thursday, June 25, 2015, will hopefully demonstrate that even though we often have short Springs in New England, rhododendron flowers often will bloom early and/or late.
Until next time,
