The Division of Parks and Recreation received ARPA funds to install missing signage and upgrade existing signage along the Franconia Notch Parkway. In November, Lincoln Sign Company, Lincoln NH was awarded a contract for $96,000 to fabricate and install 9 new gallows style signs and replace the 6 “Welcome to” and “Leaving” Franconia Notch State Park stone base signs. Division staff recently met with Roy Whitaker to review the sign specifications and materials. While there Roy gave staff a tour of the shop, introduced us to his staff and showed us recent projects they are working on. The signs will be constructed with high-density polyethylene signboard material that will be routed with a CNC machine. This material will better withstand the harsh notch conditions than wood. Fabrication will take place this winter and installation is expected in late spring.
