There’s something about an evening in late August that’s particularly enchanting. After a long, hot day the night is cool reminder that a change in the seasons is quickly approaching. And on a clear night when there are plenty of stars, it’s also a good time for reflection.
I spent an evening near Jaffrey by Perkins Pond looking at the sky above Monadnock State Park. The mountain was illuminated by a very bright moon. It was very quiet, save for the crickets, with only an occasional breeze to stir the water.
The video below is a time lapse series of about 100 images that I shot at 30 second intervals over 50 minutes. This was my first attempt at time lapse photography, so it’s not very long or of very high quality. It was a lot of fun, though, and a great way to spend an evening. I’m looking forward to perfecting the technique!
